Summary
infoEssence does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your location is used only locally on your device to show nearby stations. No account, no tracking, no ads.
Who we are
infoEssence is an iOS app developed by Adam Rais. For any questions regarding this policy, you can reach us at: infometroapp@gmail.com
Location data
infoEssence requests access to your location only while the app is in use. This permission is optional.
- Your location is used solely to find gas stations within a 10 km radius.
- This calculation happens entirely on your device. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers or any third party.
- Your location is not saved or retained between sessions.
If you decline location access, the app shows all stations in Quebec without geographic filtering.
Data we do not collect
infoEssence does not collect any of the following:
- Identity, name, or email address
- Usage or browsing data (analytics)
- Crash or diagnostic data sent to our servers
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Payment or financial data
No user account is required to use infoEssence.
Gas price data
Prices and station information come from the public data feed of the Régie de l'énergie du Québec (regieessencequebec.ca). This data is entirely public and contains no personal information.
A local cache is stored on your device to avoid repeated downloads. This cache contains only public price data and is managed automatically by iOS.
Third-party services
infoEssence does not include any third-party SDKs for advertising or tracking purposes. The app uses:
- Apple MapKit — for the interactive map display. Apple's terms of service apply.
- Apple CoreLocation — for local geolocation. No data is transmitted to Apple in this context.
Children's privacy
infoEssence is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
